Cobra's are nice looking tires. I have always run ME880's but I picked up an almost new Venom front tire for a great price. My front ME880 is still good with lots of tread but it is weather cracking and I have gone thru 2 rears so I am tossing around putting the Venom on. I have never run two tires of different brands yet so I am not real sure about it. The ME880 on the rear is almost new so I am not sure what to do. Guess I could buy a Venom rear and match them up and sell the ME880 used. Anyone run two different tire brands at the same time?

I've run Metzeler rear tires with Continental & Bridgestone fronts - lots of HD riders mix brands on choppers and sportsters. No real issues unless you're running board track style tires.

I've mixed brands on pretty much every bike I've had at one time or another. Never really ran into anything that did not work just fine.

Had a pair of Avons..... we did not like the ride ability they gave nor the mileage that we normally get from Metzeler tire.
in my book Avons suck....my 2 cents!!!!!

I have never run the cobras,i am running the venom(front & rear) on my '04 and i also ran them on my'02 and have been had VERY good results. They stick well, corner great, break in quickly.I got about 14,000mi. out for the rear, the front has maybe 2000mi. left on it.I hope to replace it soon(before it gets warm).

I have been runing the Avons for years. Ran them on my Goldwings and my Venture. Have nothing but good to say about them... I have not been able to find the Cobras in Bias! I found one size 180/65/B16 in the Cobra. Most if not all the rest are Radials that I have been able to find. I have AV71 Radial on the front of my bike.
The Venom X is the tire most run on the Roadstar. If you are finding the Cobra in Bias that fits the Roadstar, Please post the Distributor.

On my third rear and second front on the Roadie. I get great mileage over 12K rear and 22K front. The stick like glue, carry a heavy load and look really good. What more can you ask.

From what I have found the Avon Cobra and the new Metzler ME888 are priced about the same.
