interest in an aluminum manifold for 1700's 2 Years, 10 Months ago
would anyone be interested in a aluminum manifold for the roadstar.
I have a buddy Corky Bell. He is a good friend of mine, and also the author of the book Maximum Boost. Corky is also an avid Motorcycle fanatic. I need to gauge how many people would be interested I need 10 to 15 people. it will cost a pretty penny but it will all depend.

so this is only for 1700's as the 1600 jugs are different.

also the manifold WILL NOT BE CAST!

So with that being said would anyone be interested?
Also does anyone happen to have a cracked or trashed 1700 manifold we can use for reference.
Basically it will be set up like a ported manifold however aluminum instead of rubber. it will also retain the o ring gaskets

Depends on price and if it will have a good seal to the stock carb. Otherwise I'm interested. Keep us updated

Off the top of my head im thinking anywhere from 200 to 350. I know thats a big difference however the greater interest the lower the price. Flanges would be machined aluminum and everything would be tig welded

Re:interest in an aluminum manifold for 1700's 2 Years, 9 Months ago
update!!
Thanks to Curt the manifolds for both the 1600 and 1700 are on there way.
first manifold will be a run of 10 to 15 aluminum manifolds for the 1700 we will do the 1600 manifolds at a later date.
this manifold will work with the stock cv40 and hsr 42.
the manifold will use a rubber boot to mount the carb to the intake manifold similar to the aftermarket nemesis manifold. This will also help dissipate heat.
also if you are interested you will need to decided if you want the vacuum port pre installed otherwise they will come without the vacuum port.
manifolds will use a paper gasket, gaskets and manifold with be port matched.
the flanges will either be cnc'd or waterjet. the intake port (which connects to the carb) possibly will be cast to improve strength.
I plan to have 1 prototype made at first this way we can see quality. I would rather pay more for quality over quantity. quality is extremely important. I plan to find a very well known RELIABLE member from this form to run the prototype and give there input. (I am still building my 1700) what I am looking for is reliability (a manifold that will not crack or fall apart) performance (a manifold that is designed for maximum flow).
I spoke to the owners who gave me a rough quote of roughly $250 to $350 per manifold possibly higher. I personally believe it will be in the $300 range, however we will see.
if you want it to be polished expect more!
with that being said please add your name to the list if you are interested.

I will be watching this. I have plans to build one in the next few weeks but if it goes south its a option to me.

I can buy a brand new intake manifold for $86.00
and it is rubber so it won't vibrate my float needle.

I'm interested for the flow and rigidity and lack of possible leaks in the crappy rubber. Also it will polish or chrome up which will look sweeet with my chrome 43!
