Silverado OEM supports question 8 Years, 5 Months ago
Want to check with you guys first before I buy....will the large black metal OEM style rear saddlebag supports from the Silverado work on the standard Roadie? Direct bolt-on or what? Looks like my rear foot pegs are using the holes the bracket will need to bolt into.

Also, how many of you folks have retrofitted the rear saddle bag chrome guards like off the touring model on these supports? Does it look good? Work with regular soft leather bags?

I like the idea of a little extra protection "just in case"

THANKS FOLKS!

The supports go between the pegs/floorboards and the frame using the same holes. I'm sure they fit as an aftermarket option.

Yes they will work, the oem will only work with the hard saddlebags and the oem soft safdle bags that come with the roadstar. The Bag guards you are referring to , bolt onto the touring saddlebag support, pictured on my bike. They are two different support brackets...

So...are you saying that ONLY Yami bags will work with the OEM supports? I can't use other brand bags with them? OR will they just not look right?

I suspected the brackets were different, but there was another post about a retrofit and the Tour guards on Silv. brackets, so I'm not too concerned about that part.

I would just get the touring brackets, but they seem impossible to find....but the Silverado brackets are on Ebay once and awhile.

THANKS FOR INFO!

Blue Rider, You can modify anything to work with just about anything else if you work at it hard enough...
