I looked on Ebay for a fuel pump relay.
There was a relay for sale for $43.00 (used), and the OEM
part is on sale at Bike bandit dot com for $37.39!! NEW
This about the third time this month I have found this problem.
The worst was a OEM part that sells for $16.00 (new) for sale on Ebay for $62.00!!!
I called them on that one!! It made them upset.??? LOL...lol
I said Chhhheeessshhh!!!
They replied that there was no need to over react!!!

Ya, there's one guy on Ebay that has a ton of junk RS parts for sale all over priced. I guess he couldn't sell his bike whole so now he parted it out. |

That is not uncommon on ebay at all. All it takes is for 1 person that lives by prices on ebay and don't check anywhere else. He will eventually find that 1 person that will buy it. Some of those guys don't even have the item until they sell it.   |

I'm looking for a set of Saddlemen Desperado Super Jumbo Slant Saddlebags Studded and about 5 guys on Ebay say they have them until you ask them if they are in stock and they say no. They say they are ordered from the factory but the factory stopped making them. Only 1 guy had them in stock. Some of the guys selling these bags don't even know what they are selling.
They come in standard, large, jumbo or super jumbo. Most of the auctions have the wrong size listed or don't even say what size they are.

There is a fool born every minute. Pick anything on Amazon and look it up on eBay. Guaranteed you will find sellers with at least a 30-40% markup. The really sad part is that there are people that pay the inflated price because, well...............they're stupid.

I say blame eBay, They allow this by not charging listing fees and also waiving some of their fee's for the amount of products that you sell with them.
I sell a lot of goods on eBay, some fix and flip stuff. Basically if you want something to sell quickly the rule of thumb is 30% of original brand new value if the item is less than 5 years old. Then your stuff sells quickly and the buyer feels like they got a deal.
These guys that jack prices way up are praying for that sucker that comes along and doesn't care what it costs them because they need it NOW!
Last thing about eBay is that they are effectively allowing their site to be overrun by shops creating multiple identical listings for the same product. Ever seen the same set of Xenon light bulbs listed 1,000,000 times? It discourages you from sifting through the BS to find what you are truly looking for.

The bad thing about that 30% is by the time I pay ebay,paypal and USPS to ship the darn thing, I'm giving the stuff away.

This one seller was parting out each part of a set of very desireable CB750 SOHC carbs.
I wrote to him and said he would do much better just selling the whole set of carbs with ALL of the parts.
He replied that he knew what he was doing and that he makes lots of money. Sure uh huh.

Yes, I have seen that weird behavior. I reported to Ebay. No answer.
They need to create a Ebay police department. Full time job.
