That is a late model sportster tank.
Bottom edges were rounded and had more capacity.

Not going to argue with your engineering calculations, I like the pillion and I would add to struts from the tail fanning out towards the flat section where the horns used to be. They would add incredible strength and give that cute little butt some added protection should you hit an unseen wail in the road. Nice work!

Yea the original plate that was connecting the frame wasn't stiff enough so I had a. 25" thick channel welded in over top of it. There is no more flex.

If she weighs 100 lbs soaking wet the first significant bump at say 60 mph will triple her weight in the first nano-seconds and even that 1/4" plate will flex or bend more than expected.
