+1 on this, except it's not even claiming to give you "scary power", the product name is scary power. The only claim is "increased throttle response". What does that mean? Rather ambiguous I would say, just like all scams. If it really made a difference, they would have a dyno chart on there showing the gains, or even a bogus dyno chart at the very least. Don't even consider wasting your time or money with that POS.davej wrote:
Did you notice that there is no explanation as to how it would improve anything. No claims of HP gain or even better fuel economy. But it will give you "Scary fast" power

If it changes the way air and fuel are mixed wouldn't you need to rejet due to an AFR change???

So it made an extra 9hp @ 1/4 throttle and 6HP @ 1/2 throttle. If anything that thing would disrupt the air flow and venturi vacuum making it difficult for air to get under the slide and messing up the fuel draw from the circuits. That thing is so much snake oil the snake is still floating in the oil. I've seen those thing made of a screen material, and others that had what looked like fan blades on them. Some go on the front of the carb and some go behind the slide or throttle plate to "better atomize " the fuel. I just laugh at all of them. Remember back in the 80's when they had that thing that you put on top of the distributor cap on your car for a "cleaner hotter spark" and the only place you ever seen them sold was on TV or at a swap meet of some kind. Same stuff SNAKE OIL. When Mikuni starts incorporating them on their carbs or as an option I might look into it a little more.

boyesen have been making these for a few years now.

http://www.boyesen.com/xwing-vtwin#q1

considering the years boyesen have been making products for bike admissions and the stellar reputation they have gained from them (boyesen reeds were pretty much de rigeur tuning kit when i was taking notice of stinkwheels), i´d be inclined to think they wouldn´t be selling snake oil

You gotta remember that if they put this thing on a flow bench and it increased air flow by .0000156 % then the claim of increased air flow would be a true statement. All they need to do is sell "1" to a bunch of people and not worry about them returning to buy another and they just made a bunch of money. I have no idea who boyesen reeds is but like anybody eles they will sell a product if they can make money. Especially if they have a good rep they can throw in an item like this with no harm to the rep. and if it come with a tuning kit you wouldn't know that the performance come from the tuning not the air flow deverter device.

Years ago my wife bought a set of Ginsu knifes after watching the commercial cutting a can. When we got them I took one to the garage and cut some shit and then tried to thinly slice a tomato like in the commercial and guess what didn't happen

But if you or anyone else wants one of those super turbo air diverters let us know how it works out.

nope, they don´t, but i linked to the same product that boyesen sell.

like i said, i can´t see boyesen who have built a solid reputation internationally for proven racing/tuning products selling `snake oil´.

doing so can wreck a companies name.
