Seems that everything is working against me! My R* is a beast, and sounds really cool when it's about halfway through the power curve. I live in north central Texas, it's always windy, and you never know when it's going to rain, hard! (Bags are full of rain gear) I am larger than average (read heavy ). Next trip to east Texas, I will go the back roads and see what she does...I20 is 75 mph between here and there...maybe a 60 mph black top will be a little better on the mileage! I guess I need to ease up on my right hand, start shifting earlier...this may be difficult! Never thought of myself as someone that rode agressively...

I average about 28 in my Miata with the same displacement. Anything over that on the R* is icing on the cake.

That blue and white is a great combination, BTW.

Lowest was 33mpg, running Real hard between Phoenix and Tucson. Best has been 42... LOL on a ride with Cody

Over the last 75 fill ups in the last 10 months I average 37mpg overall.

I'm guessing there's an App for that, huh Rod?

I drove a rental car like a borrowed mule between Phoenix and Tuscon 2 times in 48 hours about 15 years ago, and 4 runs out to Ft. Huachuca too! That little Pontiac hated my guts by the time I was done with it! Who would have thought that:

A) NOBODY except the Air Force has any flame retardent hydraulic fluid in Tuscon (and I could not buy a drop of it at ANY price!!

There is almost a full compliment of NOTHING in Rio Vista.

C) A SECOND hydraulic line would blow on that damn Metro right after I changed both hydraulic pumps, the power pack, and fixed the first line.

D) That Murphy would show up and make sure I was a half gallon shy of enough fluid to fill that miserable piece of junk up TWICE and have to go all the way back to Phoenix from Rio Vista to get more, after I bought 6 GALLONS The night before!

Nowadays, I'd just smile and set the cruise control on the speed limit, and not take any chances. After all, I get paid by the hour! Aviation can be SOOOO glamourous sometimes.

Yepper, this is an old pic I posted

App is called Acar a very adequate limited free version for android. Think its called icar for i but no free version.

I guess it makes me explain the 6.21 gal. fillup ... again I ran out of gas and had a bud bring me a gallon, so when I filled up at the pump, just added a gallon for record keeping. Oh and just rolled over 95k today, gonna be hittin 6 digits soon

Edit:oops my worst was 31.7 but those both were the same day on a that Tucson turn around.

I'm truly a granny rider anymore. Here in the densely populated NE, it just dosen't make sense to try to make time.

Every tank is consistently about 44. I can really kill the mpg's if I run hard up or down the interstate to Bentley's in Maine, 125 miles from home here in Mass. If I keep it between 60+65, the mileage is exellent, but once I tip it over 70, to do 75-85, it goes right into the toilet.
