Re:Mustang vs. Ultimate Seats 10 Years, 3 Months ago
Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but here goes....

If I purchase the Ultimate passenger seat for my wife, would the material and color match the stock rider seat? So far the stock rider seat is working okay for me. If I switch out the passenger seat it would be to give my wife a little more comfort and allow me to add the back rest.

I don't want to mix and match seats if it will detract from the look of the bike. Thoughts?

Nick, thanks for the information.

Still kind of looking for input from someone who has the Ultimate so they can tell me how close the color and texture matches the material used on stock seats.

Yakman, I just looked at my Ultimate seats and the stocks, and I have to say they're just about an exact match, in my opinion. The Ultimates might have a slightly deeper "grain" to them, but not much. Realize, too, the Ultimates have stitching while the stockers don't. I kept the passenger backrest and it all looks like it blends in very nice. I hope this helps.

PT,

Thanks. Looks like we're riding the same bikes. Based on your experience, how would you rate the Ultimate rider seat verses the stock seat? I'm 6'2" and 200 pounds and my biggest concern is getting a seat that pushes me too far forward. The "feel" of the R* was one of the major reasons I bought this bike. Many of the other bikes I tried seemed to push me too far forward and shoved my knees higher than I liked. Thoughts?

It does push me a little forward (like Musky said, anything that sits you a little "lower" will also push you forward), but not too much. I'm 6'2" and 270 lbs, 32" inseam. The stock seat was not bad for the first 50 miles or so, but then I began to get "tired butt" after those few miles. You might not have the same experience. Ultimate will ask for your height, weight, inseam, etc. The other seats mentioned are all great seats. This one isn't the "raddest" looking in the world, but it's definitely one of the most comfortable for my wife and me.

I have the Mustang studded saddle and it pushed me forward a couple of inches. I don't get the tired but like I did with the factory saddle. It does seem to lock you into one position though a comfortable one.

I have both the Mustang and Ultimate seat sets and cant make up my mind. i have 3 days left on my try it or return it program from the oem's. I would love to try the corbin but they dont let you, its buy it and keep it. Can you give me any comparisons why you like the corbin better? My wife likes the Mustang pass. seat the best because it is larger and she doesnt slide forward. Please, if you have any comments contact me directly at sconrad@priceeng.com asap so i can make my decision. Thank you, Scott

I was looking here: http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/SearchResults.asp

The have seats from Midwest, Mustang and Saddleman. The midwest seats seem pretty good looking.

Anyone know anything?
