when I first put the tour pak on my roadie it was pretty high also. I lowered the bags and had a new lower rack built leaving just enough room to open the lids, it turned out really well. You will love the pak, nice job.

I will have to check into lowering the hardbags, hadn't thought of it. If I can lower them a couple inches I may just end up wearing the Tourpac all the time. It looks sort of dorky sitting up high like that.

If you do this MOD use a wrap around backrest with short arm rests. This tour pac has to sit highsr on our bikes than a Hardley. And back much further also.


a pic so you get the idea. Also, I had several of these brackets made, tried aluminum and didn't like it. They strip where the bolts go in. So gotta have steel. And what gave us the most headache is the angle. We made and test fit/rode 3 sets before we found the right angle. (That the pac leans back from level)


I also used the Slider for a HD Tour Pak, But next year I may remove it as we have found the exact spot she wants to ride in and, the levers they use to make it easy to slide sucked so bad we had to replace them with bolts. (They would loosen and rattle) But it has chrome and it looks great.

He has a set made already. you will still have to play with it a bit as every bike requires that. But it is made just for the King Tour pak and non lowered bags. I could not lower my bags because I have the Saddle Bag guards and this does not allow for it.

I have custom made 6.5 speaker pods I can also turn you on to. $150 for the set same as in this picture. But if you lower the bags we can use a set like JAVAWAVES just be 6.5 speakers. Makcap has a set like that.

He also has one set that is not welded up, so it can be dialed in to any lift you want. The dam angle is what is so hard to get right. These are $100 amercan pure steel. You threadlock them in and they do not move.

Javawaves is perfect. Mine is slightly higher as I have the adjustable sliding mount. 4 inches back and forward.

I did lower it a couple inches, here is where it is now. I've kinda grown into it, on my last trip I put my pack on in front of the tourpak and could lean against it. Very comfortable.
