I need suggestions for quieter exhaust 6 Years, 7 Months ago
I just bought my first Roadstar, a 2007 Roadstar Midnight Silverado. So far I love it but it has cobra slip-ons and those things are just too loud. Anyone know if the v & h big shots are quieter? Any other suggestions?

No baffles. He said he tried them once but it restricted it too much. Not sure if he meant power or sound. I wasn't sure if cobra even made baffles for these pipes? Here is a pic.

might want to check with Cobra for the baffles. Not only will they be loud, but will also lose low end Tq. without baffles or something to provide back pressure. Also to run properly the carb will be de-tuned, so it only appears to be running properly. There are also Thunder monster baffles, might want to check with them to see if they have a baffle that would fit. You do have options other than going the entire 9 yards for a new pipe. Just requires some searching

Personally, I'd lose the pipes and start over. I just ordered up another V&H 2into1 Pro-Pipe for for my second R*. The sound is good, and they produce an excellent mid-range boost you'd likely feel in the pants.

+1 I loved my Propipe, had to replace the baffle once though.

okieroadstar Like Erbman says get the baffles to tone it down and then take your time find a set of pipes you like with the sound you like. I took me a long time to find ones that suited me I've had about 4 sets of pipes between my two bikes and I sure could have saved some money if I had taken my time. You will meet guys that have different pipes and finally find one you like. Just keep your ears open and ask about the brand when you hear them.

I'd rather just start over. I don't like the way these pipes look anyway. I like the looks of the V&H bigshots and the HK K2's but I haven't heard them on this bike. I thought about a 2 into 1 but my wife doesn't like the looks. I've never owned a Roadstar nor rode with anyone else who has one so I don't have anything to go off of in regards to sound. Tuning the bike to run properly once I get the pipes on is the easy part!
