Re:Yamaha .......sux! 7 Years, 8 Months ago
Sorry, I have experienced this no-parts in stock problem with Yamaha since the 70's and multiple dealers. Just got the passenger floorboards and brackets I ordered 4 months ago. Sometimes when I do order a part, I get the wrong one (for wrong bike)and have to start all over. It is now at the point they don't even have common things like sparkplugs in stock. I share your pain my friend. Get on the 'net and search is all you can do. BOL

I wish I could help ya but I got rid of my last light bar. I have the stock one for turn signals just like another member and I would give it to you but it won't help you if you have to have the spots.

Turn signals aren't required in North Carolina.

No one in North Carolina uses turn signals either...My State trooper Bro in law looks upon turn signal usage as a courtesy

I have to agree on this one. Dealerships aren't stocking even the basics anymore. But, I think it's that they're keeping their inventories low due to the economy. I mean, wouldn't you?

I'd take Ebay anyday. Many times, it's dealerships selling what they have on-hand. And, that's just about the same darn thing. Right?

When the weld on mine broke I used JB weld to fix it until I got a new one. I found it on EBAY from a dealer in Winston Salem NC called Forsythe Motors. If you can get them to do it, the dealers have a new network where they can put in a part # and find a dealer who has one. BTW the one I fixed with JB weld worked just fine and the weld is out of sight when its mounted.

I don't blame the dealers but you would think that Yamaha should at least keep parts on hand at a distribution point to support dealers, there are many times I can go to a parts store and they won't have a part but it will usually be there by the next day, I know there is not an abundance of parts like autos but they should keep some on hand at least at one warehouse and not have to wait for months and months to serve a customer.

Thanks for the link on the requirements, the dealer said I had to have signals.
