The only other rubber would be the oring on the float valve seat maybe ripped and flapping over the fuel inlet at the seat.

Ya, that's the only rubber past the filters so I'll check that out tomorrow.

Felt more like plastic.

You said 1/4 inch fuel line, It should be 5/16. That would be a good place to start. Are you sure the 1/4 line you have on there now is fuel line and not vacuum line? Can think of anywhere else black rubber bits can be coming from.

Unrelated to your current issue but with a 1700 you should be using a 172.5 main jet w that 37.5 pilot. or even a 40 pilot (which I recommend on a 1700) You are currently jetted for a 1600.

The 5/16 fuel line would make sense to me for easy fix if that's at. I realized that that's only what time 1.5875 mm But I thing that would make a difference

The jetting was just FYI Not related to your issue.

I though I'd start lean and see where that goes.

OK ..... I have two places to start ...

- use 5/16" fuel line.
- check needle valve rubber

Thanks,

Did you try pulling out the enricher knob when this was happening? Did it make a difference?

So I'm assuming the debris you found is black? Is it hard like plastic or soft like rubber? Where they flat / flake like or more like little grains?

Have you run any Seafoam, MMO or other system cleaner lately? Could it be something like hardened varnish that flaked off another surface? Are you still running the metal cross-over fuel pipe between the jugs? If so, have you checked that?

As for the carb, if you can get your hands on some light gauge electric guitar string [like a high E or B] It may not hurt to run it through the channels in the carb in case there is something clogging up the fuel channels.

Did you check your main and pilot jets for any clogging?

The enriched works as it should. Pulling it out causes revs to increase.

More like plastic flakes but of varying size.

Have you run any Seafoam, MMO or other system cleaner lately? Could it be something like hardened varnish that flaked off another surface?

Yes, 3 different cleaners. Looked nothing like hardener varnish.

Are you still running the metal cross-over fuel pipe between the jugs? If so, have you checked that?

No, 1/4" fuel line with in line filter.

As for the carb, if you can get your hands on some light gauge electric guitar string? [like a high E or B] It may not hurt to run it through the channels in the carb in case there is something clogging up the fuel channels.

Carb has been taken completely apart twice, jets removed, and all passages cleaned and then blown out.

Is the little filter still in the carb inlet?
