Welcome from NE Illinois
if it's not the manifold, the only other part attached to the carb would be the rubber boot from the Baron's Big Air kit, think others have used a radiator type hose if that is what needs to be replaced. If you sent Curt pix of the cracked part, he'll fix you up for sure.

The hose connecting the BAK to the crab seldom cracks but it does come unglued from the BAK back plate. Most just get some good quality silicone and glue it back on with that. That is what I did when I had my BAK.

Re:Carb Boots question 4 Years, 9 Months ago
Sorry to keep bothering guys....but here's the story....as I said...this is a 2000 Road Star, but it sat on the dealer floor for a year....I got a good deal on it....but...now am finding out the problems of a bike that sat for a year....I picked it up today, after having an ignition coil and two spark club caps replaced...and it's running like a champ again.....on the invoice, under "Recommendations"....it says..."Replace carb boots - Dry Rotted"......

Is this something I need to do immediately....the dealer just trying to get additional money out of me?....or what?...any help is appreciated....as I said...I haven't rode in 20 years...and just anxious to get back out there...but want to make sure the bike is reliable and not going to break down...we've had heavy rains here in Iowa for almost a week now...and more coming....so riding really isn't an option yet....and if it absolutely needs fixed...now, I guess is the time to do it so I don't miss riding time.....
