Hey welcome to the clinic, SickPig! And thanks for the vote! That adds one more to the California tally, bringing it to almost a tie between California and northern Arizona!
I've got a buddy who own a cabin in the Lake Isabella area, so I'd be up for that too!
KEEP VOTING, SOUTHWESTERN U.S. R* RIDERS!!! We'll do state voting until Jan. 1, '09... then on to the specific location voting.

bjslyguy you live in Arizona whats the differance???? don't you ride in the summer...sorry I just had to ask
Sure I ride in the summer, but usually to/from work (1/2 hour each way) in excessive heat (I do not ride when they're projecting 110+). On weekends, I get out of the desert (ride north to Payson, Show Low, or Flagstaff or some place like that) and leave real early. Never ridden the road to Reno, but it looks like mostly all desert ( aka hot in the summer) (I-10W to I-15N to US-395). Not sure how hot US-395 gets, I just don't want to ride in excessive heat for many hours. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Really thinking Flagstaff is the best place if only for better opportunity for Colorado, New Mexico, West Texas riders to make it. Lots of great riding around there... trip down to Jerome through Sedona. Grand Canyon a few hours away.

Northern Arizona sounds like a nice ride. Grand Canyon, painted desert, petrified forest, Flagstaff around the corner of them all and not too hot.

Slyguy is right. It's hot here in Arizona and in order for us to make it to northern calif. we would be riding desert in the heat of the summer for hours so it would be impossible to make a trip up that way as far as I'm concerned anyway. Now of course if your coming from ca. up our way then the same is going to hold true, so what's the answer? I don't know perhaps So.Cal near the beach?
