Help! Horn Stopped working... 5 Years, 7 Months ago
any ideas as to why the horn wouldn't work? I checked all my connections after I did the wire extensions for the Kong Bar. I checked an double checked and see no sign of a broken splice or wire damage. Is there a specific plug wire location for the horn connection, or are the plugs populated at random within the specific loom? Is there a good option to add an auxiliary unit since I am days away from needing an inspection?

Take the housing apart and take the switch out. Careful there are small parts in there that will go flying. It isn't the most heavy duty switch and the contacts can get corroded.

I would start at the horn and see if your getting juice when the button is pushed. If you are its the horn, if your not its wiring or switch.

he housing and the switch look good on the inside. It has to be a wire splice that pulled loose when inserting into the bars. Since I already did all that twice, I am not in a hurry for a third. Is there any aftermarket product that comes recommended as an alternative? On the same note; I know a horn is required for inspection, but is it required to be handlebar mounted?

Get yourself a Wolo Bad Boy horn at Harbor Freight or on line, I think JP Cycles is having a sale, not sure. Then you will be heard LOUD & Clear. I mounted it down where the front horn was between the shifter and the frame.

thanks for the info, but the problem exists in the wiring or switch not in the horn itself. Once I get it working, I will definitely look into upgrading. thanks

yinzguys, I have a new (still in the box) Rivco Magnum Electric Horns. Changed my mind after receiving. Yours for $60 shipped.
