When your bike feels like a hardtail, you'll know you are full on!! Lol I always adjust by the seat of the pants according to road conditions.

One "bad" thing I discovered with that digital gauge is that it has ZERO visibility in the sunlight.

Not a bid deal, since I can't see it when I'm riding anyway.

Just wanted to have it on there, so I have an easy way to get an idea of where the shock is set.

But I hadn't seen anyone mention this at all in the thread, so I thought I would throw in my 1.5 cents....

What a hell of a thread.
I found the connector on truck-lites site: http://www.truck-lite.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=32853&langId=-1&catentryId=32854

At least I put up something....

Re:Roadwing Gauge 3 Years, 2 Months ago
I hooked up my voltmeter gauge to the position sending thing on the shock, like in rphazen's video. Couple of questions and observations.

The shock sending unit is a voltage divider, so the reading on the meter is directly related to voltage going through the sensor. I have the sensor connected to a breadboard and an adjustable power supply. If I lower the voltage on the supply then the sensor reading is also lower. So since it will always be relative to the supply voltage at any given time, I'm assuming that the position reading will be different if the bike is just on vs. motor running. Can someone with an RW gauge confirm that for me? Since this number changes I'm looking into some sort of voltage regulator that will throttle the sensor output voltage to a max of 10v. That will seem more like a metered range to me compared to the variable system voltage range.

Another thing I noticed is as I turn the sensor stop to stop, the voltage output changes toward the end of the range. As I turn it up, the output might go up to 11.5 but then it drops down to 11 or so as I reach the end of the dial's range. It does the same at the lower end. I also noticed that sometimes the gauge bottoms out at 0.0, but other times it only gets down to 2 or so. Not sure why that is. Might be the temporary connections I'm working with now.

And yes, I know I'm being overly picky about this, but it's winter and I have a lot of time to mess with it. Don't judge me.

The feed arm for the sensor is a little crude and may have enough slack in it to account for the variance.

So how firm or quickly I push it to the stop might change the end range numbers. Is that what you mean?

Yes. The arm that is attached to the follower is basically a 2 arm spring, so it's not as precise as the pot (voltage divider) is.
