Triple Tree Builders 2 Years, 10 Months ago
OK guys I need the groups help PLEASE. I'm looking to find anyone who knows of a machine shop who builds triple trees. I'm looking for either a 3° raked tree or a stock 0° tree but I need it to except 41mm fork tubes. Our R*'s have 43mm.

Please let me know if you know of any machine shops in your area or where ever that can build trees.

Danny

Check with Brian Veney.

He makes the custom raked trees for our bikes.

They might be able to tweak their design to accept the smaller fork legs.

Here's the problem with Brian Veney! He does not make trees. He gets a cut of the trees he sells. He has a machine shop that is building them. We have spoken about my issue and he will not provide me with any spec numbers on his trees! Most important one is the "OFFSET". I have already spent to much money on a front end that is giving me problems and I can't just take a man's word that his trees will work. Unfortunately I have learned the hard way by not knowing these numbers and what it would do to the handling of my bike. So unless Brian will contact me back or have his builder contact me he is of NO HELP. For me it's not about the money I'm going to make, it's about helping my fellow riders, but unfortunately there are some people whom it's all about the money.

Contacted Strokers but they just buy trees. They don't manufacture or even have a machine shop they work with.

Nice try but no luck.

Curt I tried contacting Joe Kinney from that youtube video but his number is longer good. I have tried contacting Rick at rakedcycles but I don't think he is in business any longer.

Let me ask this is there anyone on the forum who has stock triple trees laying around??????

If you just need to reduce the tube opening in the trees by 2mm, could you use a 1mm thick sleeve? That would drop the stock 43mm opening to 41mm. According to this table, 20 ga. stainless is 0.953 mm thick, reducing the opening by 1.906 mm. I doubt 0.01 mm would matter. Or 18 ga. aluminum would get you 2.048 mm.

Danny,

Contact Don Gray. I talked to him after he went out of business. He has a stem conversion with bearings that he can sell you. He talked to me on the phone and was the most helpful person I found on Rake. He knows what he is talking about and I am sure he will help you.

Sending you a pm with his e-mail
