Need pic of apes, fairing, & clutch cable 2 Years, 11 Months ago
If someone has that combo can you post a pic, or tell me how you have the cable routed? I have 16" and I think the cable is +10". The cable won't reach if I run it through the cig lighter opening on the inner. So I'm thinking I need to either get a longer clutch cable. Or clamp it to the bars. I think I prefer the longer cable. Thanks if you can help.

Are you running a Harley fairing or a Reckless?

If it's a harley fairing, I can take a few pics in the morning.

I wouldn't want my cable any longer than what you have now. Two reasons, 1st I don't want my cable to rub on my paint, 2nd my cable is never in my way when or if I remove my fairing.. That's just me

Sorry about the delay in getting you some pics.

Life got in the way yesterday.

Hope this helps.

1. This shows where the clutch cable goes in through my fairing.

2. The cable goes into the fairing, over the top tree, and then back through between the two trees, and down the frame like the original cable.

Thanks guys.

Jake, you're only clamp on the cable is that zip tie at the lower part of the bars? How much slack between the zip tie and the frame? Do you get any push and pull on the cable when you turn the bars?

And thanks for the pics Jefe. I'll look at mine, but I'm not sure I can route it like that without going with a longer cable. Your bars are 10" or so? And what is that boot thing over the cable against the frame? I've never seen that before.

My bars are 13" Cyclesmiths fat bagger bars.

http://secure.cyclesmiths.com/13baggerbarsthrottlebywire-1.aspx

The clutch cable looks different because of the harley controls. It's basically a harley clutch cable with the yamaha connector on the lower end.

Couldn't find paperwork from the cables when I ordered them. Don't remember how much over I went.

I think it's +8, but not sure.
