Thinking of getting a batwing 6 Years, 7 Months ago
So, I've had my R* for a month now, and I'm kicking myself for waiting this long.

I've been on the forum for a little while now, and finally have a question for all of the Batwing (or similar) owners out there.

What handlebars are you using after adding the fairing to your bike?

From what I've read, it sounds like I can put 10" apes on my bike without having to change out all the cables.

This forum is a great source of knowledge for a new R* owner, really glad I found it.

from mich. you should intorduce yourself so you dont get banned, we have a rash of spaming here so its easy to get the spamers out that way. anyhow i have a fairing and i am running the stock bars with no problem at all. and yes 10" mini apes is as big as you can go without cable/wire/brake line work

Thanks for the input and welcomes guys.

@smokescreens - What bags are you running? I've been looking at adding some hard bags as well.

I found these the other day, and I'm thinking about getting them:

i have harley bags mounted with baddad brackets. my trunk is made by matazu and i sure hope the saddlebags are made better than how the trunks are

edit: also you could look into royal star tour deluxe bags. they look good and bolt right onto roadstar brackets. look almost like the matazu ones your looking at i think. but your money your call, just bouncing ideas off you

I actually have this speaker / amp setup on my bike already, so I don't need a fairing with the radio in it.

This is actually what pointed me in the direction of the Batwing.

What issues have you had with the Mutazu trunk?

Mutazu is located about 45 minutes away from my house, so I was planning on taking a ride up there so I could look at their product before purchasing.

I'm using a WOC (Wide Open Customs) fairing. See the link below in my sig pic of other Yamaha's with a WOC. It's a one piece unit that runs a radio and 4 5.25 inch speakers.

The trunk is super thin when I hit bumps the whole dang thing looks like the trunk of a car with a ghetto blaster in the trunk (shaking and flexing) im gunna add some fiberg lass to the inside to stiffen the walls up some.
