first question
Is it safe?
I really would like to powder coat the triple tree black however are the mounts for the risers bushing and do they need to be pressed out?

Other then that who here has powder coated them

Just to make sure tou did powder coat it without removing the dampers from the top tripple tree portion

If you powder coat your top tree you will have to remove your riser bushings. They are pressed in so you will need replace them with new ones after you get it powder coated. The powder gets baked at about 450°F so it has to be free of all pieces that can melt. IIRC Kev painted his with a spray can paint, but dont hold me to it

I painted my top tree with Dupli-color. I sanded the clear off the tree first, then cleaned it. Sprayed 2 or 3 coats of etching primer, 1000 grit sanding, 3 coats of black, 1500 grit sanding, 3 coats of clear.

Maybe not as durable as powder, but it looks good.

Actually Rod,
I am quite handy with rattle cans these days, but mate, the top triple tree was done by a mate who also did the speedo nacelle, front and rear rims, and the left hand engine and pulley covers, the latter 2 were done I Matt aircraft paint. One day I'll upload some pics

As said before cshmeiser, powder-coat means bushes out I'm afraid!
