Thanks! did the gasket come off easy or did it tear up? Gonna check pricing on one.

Retail is $5.64 on the gasket # 5PX-15462-00-00 (Yamaha USA part number).
Since there's a small amount of crush assumed during install.
For $5 & change I'd just pitch the old one & replace it.

The old gasket came off easy but stuck to the cover itself not to the motor. I think it could have been reused but I had ordered one and had it shipped. Getting the old gasket off was a pain had to use a razor blade it is very tough stuff. It was about $10 including shipping for the gasket.

This is normally how the inside of the engine looks unless it was abused.

If you put the bike on its kick stand the oil drains away from the cam cover.

Yup pretty clean in there in my bike too!!! Didnt even loose a drop of oil. Needed a new gasket cause the old one broke in half when removing the cover. Ball milled looks great on there now. Thanks Lug and Bubba for the help! JC
