Very true. It was more of a dig against me than anyone... it always gets me good.... I'm ready to chime in and thinking "man, that's already been discussed" to only find out it was when it was a new concept. Then, I feel stupid. LOL

I was lined up right behind JD in this one, I was in good company

I saw the 2.5 needle and seat in the OP, and just couldn't wait to say ....."STOP!! THERE'VE BEEN IMPROVEMENTS!!"....

The OP hasn't logged on since August 2011. The ride he had in his sig pic looked awesome. I wonder what it looks like now? Very cool.

I remember hearing that he stopped the project and bought a BMW to ride. I was following his project pretty close back then. I don't remember for sure but I think there were some design flaws and he got discouraged.

The pump doesn't do anything other then sit between the tank and the carb, and push fuel to the carb. When the bowl fills, the float applies pressure to the needle half of the needle and seat, and shuts the fuel off so it doesn't run out on the ground.
Gravity will fill the bowl also, but a bigger needle and seat(float valve) helps the bowl fill faster, to compensate for the lack of pressure from the pump.
The "Pumpless Checklist" link I posted above, gives you the run down of what you need to do.
Holler if you need any help.
