Just wondering....
This is Memorial Day weekend as well as the 100th running of Indy 500. I plan to attend Indy on May 27th ( Carb Day). That doesn't give me enough time to travel for Saturday's ride. Anyone planning on hanging around on Sunday for additional riding since Monday is a Holiday? If so, I'd love to come meet with everyone just the same. |

Kai, is there room for one more? I tried to get my brother to come with me but he can't make it. Are there still rooms available? It's around 500 miles for me. Tom

On Saturday, do you have a planned ride yet? And if so are you going east or west of Manhattan?

Tomd, of course there is always room for one more. When you call the hotel tell them we are the Roadstar Clinic Group/Riders and to see if they can offer you the discount rate. Someone pmed me and said they filled up the reserved rooms we had. Kai

Rlouisa, we are going all around Manhattan about a 100 mile plus route. This is the essence of the route, you will have 4 or 5 ride Cpt's to break the group into smaller groups for saftey reasons.

Hi everyone, thanks for participating in this ride. Just wanted to type and itinerary for the M&G ride in May.
The dates are 27 ( Friday ) and 28 ( Saturday ) May 2011.
Friday- at 5-6 pm escort riders from ( Motel 8 ) out of town to Steve Thompason House ( @ 831 Ewing in the Northview neighborhood ) for a BBQ. Steve brought a bunch of meat and stuff for this BBQ and we are going to set a donation bucket so he can recover some of his cost ( hopefully all of it ). Take lots of Pictures!!!
Enjoy the BBQ and get to know everyone. Hand out Maps to selected RC's that are going to lead small groups of out of towner riders on our route.
Escort riders back to Motel 8.
Saturday- at 7 am, Escort out of town riders to Sirloin Stockade and have breakfast, after breakfast break group down to smaller groups of 5 riders each.
Take lots of Pictures..
From Sirloin Stockade take Saber Lane to Hayes Drive , turn right on Casement Road.
Turn left on Marlatt Avenue. At Stop Light turn Right on Tuttle Creek Blvd.
Turn right on Hiway 13, cross the dam, then turn left on Carnahan Creek to Olsburg...
Turn right on Hiway 16 , head west to Onaga. Turn Right on Onaga Road.
Turn left on Hiway 24 toward St Mary. Turn right on Maple Hill Road towrd Maple Hill.
Stop in Maple Hill at Puffy's for Lunch.
Tell the door person that your with the Roadstar Clinic Group. We have a large room in the back reserved for us. Take lots of Pictures!!!!
Once lunch is done. head to Hiway 70 and stop at the Gas Station there to top off. Once thats done take Hiway 70 East to the next exit ( Keene/Eskridge Exit ) head south to hiway 4. Take lots of Pictures
Take Hiway 4 West toward Eskridge. Take hiway 4 to the 99/ 4 intersection and turn right and head toward Alma.
In Alma turn left on Old Hiway 10 and head for Alta Vista.
Once your in Alta Vista head out of town and make a right on hiway 4 to 177.
Make a left on 177 and make a right on Hiway 4 toward Dwight.
Once your in Dwight make a right on Hiway 57 and head to Grand View Plaza.
Stop at the Gas Station in Grand View Plaza and Top off. Take lots of Pictures
Once your done ther head toward Crackle Barrell in Junction City located at the Walmart Exit.
We will be expected at Crackle Barrell and the will seat us when the have the tables set up for us. ( I will call when we are in Puffys and let them know that we are headed their way!!! ) Take lots of Pictures!!!
After Dinner Escort out of Town Riders back to Motel 8
Sunday- Escort out of town rider to Sirloin Stockade for Breakfast and say good bye to new/old friends until next time...

P.S. The R/C can use their own discretion in regards to interesting places to stop as long as the get their riders to the Lunch Stops nad dinner stops...any questions feel free to call me or e-mail me... Thanks for participating.

Kai, I called super 8 Motel and reserved a room for the meet and greet, so I will definitely be attending. I was reading some previous posts and it stated that your name should be reserving the room. What do you mean by that? Tom
