After I bought my last bike I heard the bell while pushing it into the garage. The PO left it on the bike for me, and whereas I didn't know it was there, I see it more as a gift to me than a purchase. That's just my experience though.
By all means if it holds sentimental value to you, that's awesome and you should keep it. It'll bring you luck.

Well that's a real poser isn't it?....I think that as the bell MUST be a gift and a gift is something that is given freely then it is purely optional...I like the idea that IF you want the new owner to have it then take it off and present it. But again that is your call...It was given to you to put on your bike.....I think you can put it on any bike you want OR..retire it and see how fast your friends/loved ones replace it..IMHO

My Allstate insurance agent sent me one along with this cool book.
