Good tuning....I have gotten as high as 52 with the stock CV carb and the HSR 45 both. Admit the 45 was jetted lean then but even re-jetted richer I get around 48. Weight and wind does matter so if you have bags full with a windshield, and a passenger you aren't going to get gas mileage. Just to let you know I can pick my bike up from laying on the ground with the handle bars. That is how much weight had been removed. Good thing to as I am getting weak in my old age.

Monday I rode 330 miles over a mountain pass each way. Got 43mpg when I got to my destination, and got 45 when I got home. Probably averaged 60 mph maybe 65 mph during the trip. I don’t really hotrod around but I’m not all that easy on the throttle either. My wife’s victory on the other hand got 55mpg…. Stupid 6th gear!

You guys always riding style I have tried riding easy so easy I feel like an old man scared to open the throttle and keeping it at 55 for an entire tank. 38mpg!!!

You guys and your riding style I don't get how you ride unless your always going down hill with a tailwind!

Your MPG is being cut by bag drag! Bags in the wind are like a sheet of plywood when it comes to aerodynamics plus many are full of iron.
And yes I am now experiencing that now.

My MPG dropped when I got an accurate speedo!

Oh and Danny aren't you a scared old man anyway?

I can pick my fully dressed bike off the ground with just the handle bars too! But then again I’m 25 years old 6’1” and at my preferred fighting weight of 220lb

The biggest factor affecting your mileage is your right hand!!!

Wow thanks for all the responses.

I'm starting to think I should have just left well enough alone because I already was getting 41 mpUSgal with the previous owners setup. This was strictly highway at about 70 to 75 mph one up with bags and wind shield.
