Morton is about 34 miles out of the way, 68 RT. How about we stay somewhere on the route to Portland like Centralia or Chehalis?

I changed my location on the members map to Graham but don’t have permission to delete my old location in Puyallup.

Put me down for tentative. We take a week long bike trip in July every year and this year we don’t have the dates set. Depends on everyone’s availability unfortunately. But if I can make it I’ll do my best to be there. The one I did a couple years ago was a blast.

For those of us coming from the north, let's ride together or meet in Vancouver, WA so we can ride the back way to Albany via Oregon City, Molalla, Silverton, Stayton and Crabtree. This would be a scenic route east of I5.

I might have to head north a bit just to ride down with you, I like that route.

Here ya go, on the way down on Thursday go East on WA14 to Hood River, South on OR35 to Government Camp then OR26 thru Damascus to I205 and South on 205 to Hwy99. I like the sounds of that. I would definitely have to ride with you then.

The reason I was going to Moreton was that Roys' was like $50/night last time and the Mexican food was great....I'm open if there is a similar deal in either of those larger centers.......

Only motel 6 I find is Kelso/Longview or Kalama both say on web site that in July they are 69.99 night. Kelso is exit 40 I think and Kalama would be about exit 32, the turn off for Morton is exit 69 then 18 miles into Morton.
Could stay in Morton and then head south out of Randal on NF23? end up in Hood River, then I would really have to come up and meet you for that ride! Shores knows that route. STEVEN!!!! Chime in

Hey Mike and Egil. A few points:

Morton's Mexican food is good, but no better than many along the way.
NF23 and 25 is a beautiful but rough 35 mph, 100 mile road with lots of lumpy pot holes, root heavings, etc. Save that for another day or we'll never get to Albany in a reasonable time. Mike has ridden it part way to Windy Ridge.
Going to Morton adds 68 miles to the trip with back tracking, not a through route unless you go NF23.
We've got time to find a cheap motel in Centralia, Chehalis, Longview, etc. lots of good Mex food there also. www.trivago.com
