Roady road trip 1 Year, 8 Months ago
Leaving this afternoon on another motorcycle trip with my old man. Last year was Yellowstone, this year is San Francisco. We'll leave Tacoma Wa today at about 3 and head to Eugene oregon for the night. Tomorrow we plan on riding around crater lake and into northern Cali. From there we'll take off to reno, followed by Virginia city, a beer and tshirt at the bunny ranch and off to lake Tahoe. The plan then is to head towards the bay stopping by Folsom state prison for a photo opp, through sacramento and into dublin to hit the arlen ness shop. Then we'll head down to San Jose and back up through san fran. From there we'll take the Pacific Coast highway all the way to astoria oregon, cut over to i5 and head home. Should total somewhere around 2000 miles. Anything I've got to see along this route?

Are you looping Tahoe or riding the east or west side?

Riding up the west side to Tahoe city then turning around and heading back to south lake Tahoe is the plan, but nothing is cemented.

If you have the time I would ride it like this. Can see most or all of the lake. Come down 395 to Reno. Go up Geiger (431/341) to VC out the back side to 50 into Carson. And back to 395 south to gardnerville. Then up Kingsbury grade (207) and got north around east side of lake the can continue around the west side if you plan to go over the hill on 50.

Take jacks valley road off of 50 toward Kingsbury and stop in Genoa. First settlement in Nevada.

Only concern is the Nevada state bird ( the construction flag girl) are out in force this time of the year.
