Re:Another new bike from Yamaha 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hell Yeah!! i'm digging it.
I would defiantly park one of these in my garage (if I didn't have to pay for it), Hell I might even ride it. LOL
since everyone is airing out their complaints about the new bike i'll add mine.

Ok, maybe some handlebar mounted mirrors instead of the ones stolen from a Goldwing.

I really like the bike, and think that it is priced similar to bikes in the same category from other brands. I find it hard to justify buying a new metric motorcycle (except maybe a gold wing) when we all know that in a year or 2 there will be drastically reduced new leftover models sitting in the dealers for sale. Not only that, but with the rapid depreciation of the value of metric bikes, it makes it hard not to buy a used one instead of new. Catch 22 is that if no one buys the new ones, then who is going to sell me the cheap, low millage, used one?
If I was one of those guys that had a large enough bank account that I didn't have to worry about bargain shopping. I would take a closer look at these.
I wonder is they sound as good in real life as they did on the video.
GT package = Extra $1500 for a alarm, CB (that I wouldn't use), and SiriusXM® (that you still have to buy a subscription for), and Navigation (the one thing I would like to have) seems a little high to me. but it looks like you can buy just the navigation upgrade for $400 https://www.shopyamaha.com/product/details/touring-navigation-system-upgrade?b=Transcontinental+Touring+Accessories&d=50

I'll take this one please

I am digging the fairings! Looks kinda like a Camaro front grill. Is that the 1900? I can probably swing one of these if I sell me Roadie.... and Hornet.... and Hondian.... and 350z....and maybe a kidney. Fact is, I don't know what it's like to own a new bike. And at that price, the Indian Cheifs are showing up near $10k on the used market.

Even a stripped down - Roadstar version of this drive-train - will probably be in the high 16-18K range. Like others have said, lots of used HD and Indian product out there in that range. I do like the look, and think Yamaha is going after the F6B market - but those guys are Goldwing guys period. Buying an air-cooled V-Twin has absolutely no appeal to them. If it did, it would be another big name brand. Sorry Yamaha, but reality is a harsh mistress.

It appeals to me and I just bought an F6B. I would love the power of the F6B with the sound of a big twin.

I think it's awesome. They came out about 2 years too late for me personally but that's ok. I'll definitely be looking into one in a few years.

This is what I've been asking for from Yamaha for years. Only reason I switched brands is because they didn't offer what I wanted. I prefer Yamaha over all the brands for some reason.

Also, MSRP is always higher than what you'll see in a decent dealership. I'll bet my local dealer will have these at or just under the $20k mark

Kyle they werent late, you were just too impatient

You guys can bitch and reason all you want. The only thing deterring me is the price, but I will own one some day. Very happy for Kai getting one for himself. Cant wait to hear the reviews first hand.

I still think the BMW K1600B is a way better deal. Less money, way more power (160 horsepower) than any of the new crop of baggers. And they all pretty much look the same to me.

BMW is also at the bottom of the reliability list. Yamaha is on top. BMW has very little cool factor. Nothing better than the sound of a v-twin.

Yup, and you'll spend the least amount of time riding it and the most amount of time waiting for it to get fixed.
