As mentioned, the hard starting, could very well be an air leak. Check the TPS for sure, since you messed with it. Double check everything else you did.

Make sure your idle is at least 900rpms, when the motor is hot.
The Pilot jet size is stamped on the side, and I have to use a magnifying glass to read it.

Guys, did you miss what the OP stated earlier in his post which i pasted below for you to see stating he cant use choke/cold enrichment knob for cold starting the motor.

" Could not use the choke to get it started but after it caught it needed it for a minute or two. Had to tweek the idle as it was now too low"

His above statement says he cant use the choke/cold enricment knob for cold start so he would have to hit the throttle 3-4 times for a decent prime to get it fired initially and then feather the throttle above idle speed post initial fireup to keep it running untill it watrms up enough to take off.

Maybe what he meant is motor wornt start at all when cold enrichment knob is pulled out and then uses it only after motor fires up.

But not know if thats the case or not with that said did he actually give the throttle 3-4 hits to prime the motor & then hold throttle above idle when trying to fire it up cold when not using the choke/cold enrichment to get the motor initally fired up cold?

And if the accel pump isnt adj properly or isnt working due to it being worn out that will make cold start that much harder.

So maybe he needs to either get the cold enricement working again or needs to chk the accell pump ajd to ensure its suirting fuel at the same time throttle is applied moving the throttle plate in carb for good prime when cold starting esp since he said cold enrichment/chake cant be used for what ever the reason.

Just another take on it/LOL!!!!

Well that is true bu that has changed since I ran it for about 30 minutes and rechecked the sealing of the gaskets on the intake manifold. Now it starts great on the first try without choke and after it chatches I pull the choke for 30 seconds to a minute as it warms up and then push choke in and it runs great. Only after running for a while (10 minutes or so) does this bogging issue come up. And again it bogs down at any throttle except for idle. 1/4 throttle, 1/2 or WOT is all the same for a short period and wham back to full power. Then it is fine a some time and then randomly it happens again. This is really driving me nuts.
