Me and my wife out for a ride following a van about 65 mph and a good 50 feet behind it.
Van hits a dead armadillo and it lands right in front of us, nothing I can do but run right over it. Very thankful we didn't get out of shape.
Blood, guts and nasty armadillo all over my boots and god what a nasty smell
We pull over and there is rotten meat and blood everywhere.
We ride to the closest town, about 20 miles and find a car wash to clean it up. Continue on home (about a hour and a half) get in the garage and all we smell is barbecued rotten meat, it got up between the exhaust and the heat shields.
I will be scrubbing for a week.

Good thing the van softened it up a bit. In my experience, it's organs and intestines that REALLY stink up the works when birds go through jet engines.

I've pulled my share of buzzard and duck internals out of jet engines. No other smell quite like it!!! Cleaned up an F4 once that took a buzzard through the windscreen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVgxe_yLeL4 The 3 second rule does not apply when following a van or other vehicle you can,t see around, glad it worked out for you this time.
