Didn't think I would miss the bike that much.

Been there, had that same feeling. With both cars and bikes. Cars I should have never let go, the '79 Trans Am, and the '67 Skylark I "cloned" into a GS400. Bikes were the '96 Magna, and the VW trike I got from the builder, my uncle John.

After my wreck I was debating fixing it then adding the insurance money to buy a different bike but I knew I'd regret it so I kept it. I don't know what it is about it but I just like it. There are a lot of them for sale.

After my wreck I did sell it. I didn't miss it for a while, but four years later and I got the itch again. Looked at a bunch of different bikes, but ended up with another Roadie.

There have been only a handful of vehicles I was glad to see gone. The rest I had the same feeling that maybe I made a mistake. Only a few I still feel that way... a 66 GTO convertible bought for $2,600 in perfect condition back in 1982, and a 955i Triumph triple I should have kept for when I get the need for Speed.

Was thinking of selling my 2006 and getting a Valkyrie but woke up with a clear head and keeping what I got. Sticking to the plan of turning the 06 into a bagger service bike. All my plans got hosed this summer due to excessive stress and work load.

I regret selling my 1978 Mustang 390HP Convertable with posi track rear end, and a 302 Boss engine. Also my 1968 250cc Yamaha 2 cylinder 2 stroke street bike.

I can empathize... I traded my first Road* for an RV and then we moved to eastern Connecticut where most of the roads are empty of traffic...
Thankfully after a year of my wife saying... "Gee this would be a great road to take a bike out on..." I was able to score another '06 Roadie, and now we're back on those roads!

Mine was the '78 Firebird formula. With the 400 and 4 barrel carb. Built-in 8 track player! Loved that car!

One of my friends discharged from the Marines in 1966 and bought an off the showroom floor AC Cobra for $2800 brand new. In 1976 a woman pulled out in front if him and he hit her at a glancing blow to the passenger front end. Insurance wanted to total it but somehow he talked them out of it and kept it. He disassembled it and put the parts in his garage. Frame was fine and engine fine but banging out aluminum body parts is tough but for five years he worked on it and finally finished it. He is glad he kept that $2800 car. I think one recently fully restored sold for over $1 million. Good investment for a Marine Sergeant.
