Yes had to replace my risers with Barons DT risers which pull the bars back 2 inches. Wouldn't fit with out those.

That's what I went with as well. I'd actually like to be able to tilt the fairing about 1/2 more but can't because it's as far as the Barons risers allow. More than that I would really like to have the bars about 1" less pullback if I could. BUT there's a lot more vibration with these since they are not isolated in any way and it's a lot more noticeable that the stock risers with the dampeners that you remove to install the Barons risers.
Hoping there's others out there that will work out but I haven't come across any...yet
Thanks again...

Re:Got my batwing on 1 Year, 8 Months ago
I have 2 from longrideshields.com
A tall one for highway trips and the shorter one that I
use otherwise.
They have been great to deal with and I bought the tall one along with the short one on sale 49.95
Use the 96-2013 HD and I bought the "Ultra" model Recurve.
Better airflow and vastly better material than what came with the fairing by far and the best I've found for the price.
The are rigid and not thin flexible one that came with the fairing. As the other post mentioned the fit of the two halves on these fairings isn't that great. I didn't have to heat mine, instead I removed the cheap gasket that came on the fairing with new foam type on both sides. I also replaced the hardware with slightly longer chrome panheads and acorn nuts. Worked well for me.
Hope that helps.
Terry

Re:Got my batwing on 1 Year, 8 Months ago
The faring butts right up against the risers. I need to change my bars. I would like ones more pulled back. Unfortunately my current ones the risers and bars are all in one.

My first snag in the radio / speaker install. The precut out holes are too small. Gonna cut them out bigger tonight. I seen some posts on radio installs where people used a switch to kill the radio so the battery doesn't drain. Is that that preferred method of wiring it up? I was just gonna tap into the fused ignition wire to keep the clock and station presets. Any help is appreciated.

I like the idea of a separate switch to turn off the current to the radio. Didn't think about that. Was thinking about rewiring the radio to the ignition switch for on/off of the current to the battery, but then you can't pull in somewhere and use the radio with the ignition off. I've pulled the fuse in the past to stop the draw. My battery had a steady current draw after my Son-in-Law installed a radio for me. Not sure if I will lose all the presets. After the radio install I upgraded my stator and rectifier to help offset that current draw.

Was it that much of a current draw to make it necessary to upgrade the stator and rectifier?

It's always funny how anything you want to buy lately seems to open up Pandora's box and it really doesn't matter what it is you buy everything seems to be flawed.
Nothing ever seems as easy as it was so many years ago or maybe I just didn't seem to pay attention, could also be that getting older makes me more aware of the deficiencies with products. I want to purchase this batwing but from the sounds of it I will be buying other items just to make it better as well as fit properly.
Thanks for all the tips.

I installed a connector at the fairing and use a battery tender. Can unhook if needed and no preset or draw issues. Upgraded stator a rectifier years ago. No issues here.

Do you think there would be a big difference between the 4-5 1/4 speaker and the 2 5x8 speaker faring?
I was thinking the 5x8 might have more bass but not really sure

I went with 2 6X9 3 way spkrs due to the design.
Not wishing to go into audiophile speak here but for me
I think getting a good pair of 6X9 was the way to go.
Bluetooth head unit and amp all inside and it sounds as good as you
Are going to get at 75 MPH
