Bosch 3300 fit with cover ? 9 Months, 1 Week ago
I was reading that some members are using the Bosch 3300 Oil Filter. I was wondering if anybody has used it with one of those Barons Chrome oil filter covers ? I think that's what's the PO installed on my bike. Just want to make sure it will fit.
Thx

I should have been more specific. That filter is the longer version than stock. It will have a gap at the end with that filter. I used it for a long time. The 3023 is the stock length and the Barons cover will fit fully with the stock length filter. Hopefully that makes sense.
There is another thread titled oil filter leaks that I'd recommend looking at.
Happy and safe holiday wishes.

Makes perfect sense. O well, guess I'll have a spare filter. I did the Amazon prime 1 day shipping thing for the 3300.

I did read that the Bosch has problems sealing, but it looks like other people haven't had issues. Maybe I'll just go ahead and get a different brand. Have you had issues with the 3023 ?

Be careful of the new Bosch filters and Purolator filters. They have changed the way that the threaded part is installed in the filter. The old way was concave (curved inward). The new style is convex (curved outward)which is causing the threaded part to bottom out against the engine before tightening the gasket sufficiently.

I switched to Mobil One M108's for my RS and RSV so I haven't experienced the seeping that is happening around the filters gasket like others. I know none of the guys riding RSV's/RSTD's will use the new Bosch or Purolator filters anymore.

Filter on left is new style, Filter on right is old style

So Grub,
Is the Mobil 1 filter you use same size as stock Yamaha?

I have a chrome oil filter cover and I use the Napa Gold 1358 or the Wix 51358 both seal and are completely covered by the chrome.
