All Road Star engines utilize a dual fire ignition.

Since you didn't link us to the tach you're interested in I can't answer your guestion.

So, you need to find out if it is a single fire, or a dual fire, tachometer. Over the years Harley has used both.

I don't know if the tach it's self will work, but I don't think the mounting that is is on it will. At least the HD risers that I have tried will not work with a solid HD top clamp as the spread for the riser is different from the road star and the HD

Here's what I have and works great.

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Tachometer-with-Handlebar-Mount-48mm-Bullet-Style-Fits-1-Inch-Bars-1-/381192103232

Fits perfectly between the stock risers if they are the earlier two piece style. Zoom in on my siggy pic for another angle shot of it.

So can you see the picture I tried to post ? Or did I screw something up. I can see the picture of the tach on the site.

Anyways, sounds like I just need to make sure it's for duel fire ignition.

I'm using 1 1/4" Drag bars, so I'm not using stock risers. The bars bolt directly to top tree, so there's plenty of room on the bars to mount.

Yessir. I see the picture, but doesn't tell me if it'll work.

Contact the seller and ask if is a dual fire.

Sorry, I can't be more help.

Oh ok, thanks Ron, just wanted to make sure I was posting pictures correctly. I just sent the guy a txt to see if it's a dual fire Tach. I do have a pic of the wire harness not sure if that will help. Shows like 4 or 5 wires.

I like the the one you've got on your bike Ron and would think about picking that up, but my bars are 1 1/4"

Don't know Harley color coding for their stuff.

The eBay seller has them for the 1 1/4" bars, as well.

RoadieRob, What Cike was telling you was if you use the stock holes in the tree to mount the tach you have pictured the distance between the holes on a harley and a roadie are different. You have pictured a one piece top on the riser so the holes won't line up with your roadie. Ride on, Mike
