The one I rode was nice and tight and responsive. It has the same power plant as Toby's stryker. We do plan on having him test ride it, and also take me for a ride on the back before we actually pull the trigger on it. The 1300 I test rode was a 2014. GO FOR IT!!!! ... now that I've given you my blessing, what are you waiting for . 1300's are quite nice and as you'll own it for the next 32 years, that works out to $31.25/year. I agree with you, I will call them tomorrow and try to get the price adjusted to just under 8k out the door. Never hurts to ask. We will probably pick it up later this week. I did mention they said they would be glad to hold it for us for a week or two. Toby also agrees with you, he says it's value just as therapy, something to look forward to, and work towards far outweighs the pricing. It would also be a much better bike for our two up riding then his stryker since the suspension isn't as stiff. Seats site and they make a set for this bike. I may experiment with the one I have, and see if it would go on the 1300 stock pan. I originally bought the big tour foam and cover for the roadstar stock pan, and installed it myself. If you want it badly and your happy to pay the price to have it then get it. Life is short enough you might as well have fun. But im also the kind of guy who puts more than its worth into a motorcycle anyhow.
