Looking for a Bar... 1 Year, 2 Months ago
Fellas, I'm wanting to acquire, for the '04 rat bobber on a no-budget-build, the lowest cost handle bar I can find... and, I'm starting with you all.

I like the low and wide type of bar that goes by the name of nostalgia, comfort, beach bar, etc.

If anyone has a low and wide type of bar they're willing to part with... I'm a wiling buyer.

Again, it's for the '04 rat Bobber Build, and I'm going as cheap as possible; the all-expense spared route. But, I've been selling off stuff, have built up a PayPal balance, and I can expend some of that on a proper handlebar.

If no one's got one here that's available, I'll resort to me very old, and best, friend, eBay.

I have a stock handlebar from a 99+ Royal Star Venture you can have for just shipping, pretty much like new. Have some stock grips that will fit as well for free.

Not familiar with its shape... would it be what I want? Low, and relatively flat? Does it differ significantly from a stock R* bar, which I have sitting on it now?

Also, I didn't mention, but should have... I want to keep the stock length cables and hose.

Looks just like a wide and low bar to me... do the stock cables and hose work with it? If so, I'm in the market.

I now have bars quite similar to those and 4" risers and the stock cables work.

Thanks, Painter, but I'm looking for the low and wide type of bar that antique bikes used to sport. Today they go by the names, nostalgia, comfort and beach bar; and maybe some other names besides.

Adamp looks to have just such a bar available, but he hasn't gotten back to me as to whether stock cables and hose work with it, or, for how much, as I'd like to buy! Adamp?!?!?!

We've got a couple of dive bars here if you want to go in to town. The Ida Tavern makes a tasty bacon cheeseburger but the beer usually lacks enough bubbles. Over in Petersburg, The Walnut has great chicken wings and the draft beer is much better. Great atmosphere at both places, assuming you are or are at least with a local such as myself. If you ever come take a ride to southern MI, I'd take ya out to either one

I prefer to stay away from town though. The single blinking red light at the 4 way stop sign in the center of town is way too much for me. Feel like I'm in the big city or something. Can't stand the 2 or 3 street lights there either. Might as well be in some cesspool like New York City or some such place with all that population around. Hell, there might be all of 300 people in my one little town! Screw that. Better yet, we'll just hang out in the barn with a few cold ones and talk about how weird city folk are
