Though the Pollak Library building is likely to remain closed for the fall semester, we are still offering a wide variety of services online. We are committed to providing a rich research experience for our community and will continue to support our patrons in the virtual environment.
Our librarians and staff are here to help you with instruction, research support, and both physical and digital access to materials. We continue to be available for virtual research instruction – synchronous or asynchronous – and as always with a class tailored to your specific class need.
Library Instruction Services
Librarians at the Pollak Library teach more than 700 course-integrated library instruction sessions per year. They are available to instruct your students on how to find and evaluate resources for class assignments and research papers.
Please use our Library Instruction Scheduler to book an instruction session with your subject librarian.
We have many asynchronous research instruction tutorials that offer an introduction to academic research. The interactive SPARK tutorials, accessible on TITANium, will give students a thorough orientation to navigate the Pollak Library website.
The suspension of on-site services at Pollak Library has not impacted our availability to answer research questions. Virtual reference is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can visit our Get Help page for more information. Research consultations are available and can be conducted virtually on Zoom with the subject librarian assigned to your academic department or program as a research instruction and collection development liaison.

Although circulation services were suspended in late March with due dates extended to August 31st, effective July 13 patrons can once again request and withdraw print and other physical materials. To facilitate this we have launched our contactless book pickup to continue providing access to physical materials.
All our databases, online guides, and the collection of nearly 1,000,000 eBooks are still available. Databases and Guides can be accessed by clicking on the corresponding icons on the library’s homepage. You can also search for eBooks and articles through OneSearch.
As we continue this transition to virtual learning and teaching, the Pollak Library is here to support the CSUF community. We thank you for your patience and your continued support. To follow along with updates, visit our webpage dedicated to Virtual Instruction details.
