How to best use available marketplaces across Europe and what role Digital Innovation Hubs should play on them? How can companies and regions benefit?

Access presentations

Several European projects on Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) have developed their own platforms or marketplaces, offering solutions for companies to improve their production processes, products or business models with digital technologies.

These marketplaces have a high potential to make a real difference for companies, but how to make the most out of them?

The aim of this meeting is to bring together Digital Innovation Hubs representatives, part of the European Catalogue of DIHs and Working Group on Digital Innovation Hubs, to address:

  • Bridge supply of results of European Projects on Digital Innovation Hubs with demand of these services by other DIHs and regions
  • Fill the white spots: Upcoming H2020 calls and mechanisms for regions to invest in DIHs

Expression of interest to present at the event

During the day, we want to give the opportunity for:

  • Innovation Actions to present their existing platforms and marketplaces
  • Regions to showcase examples of how these tools can serve other companies in their regions
  • Digital Innovation Hubs' representatives to reflect on how these platforms and marketplaces could be re-used as part of their service offerings.

If you want to contribute to the topics of the workshop, you are welcome to express us your interest via email. Please state what you would like to present and, if possible, attach already some slides. The deadline is 22 March.

9:45-10.00: Setting the scene

  • Supply and demand of digital transformation services through platforms and marketplaces: What mechanisms are needed to help them meet?

10.00-11.30: Session 1: Tool for the digital manufacturing market (supply side)

  • EU funded Innovation Actions are developing solutions that can help any company in any region in Europe with their digital transformation. Companies will be able to test these solutions either through open calls or by buying them through the martketplaces. This session will therefore present available tools and solutions, so that DIHs can take on the role of distributors and extend their range of services

11.30-13.00: Session 2- The role of regional players to foster companies' demand for digital transformation

  • This session will explore how regional grants or voucher schemes can be used to support new Application Experiments, re-using existing marketplaces or encourage SMEs to connect with highly knowledgeable service providers. This will also help regions optimise the overall mobilisation of their European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF and in particular ERDF).

13.00-13.45: Networking lunch

13.45-14.45: Group discussion & presentation of findings

14.45-15.00: DIH Catalogue & Community platform launch
