Connectivity – the ability of people to reach and connect with others as well as access data and information from any part in the world through our smartphone or computer. Staying connected has become an integral part of our activities, work, business or studies. As technology evolves, connectivity is becoming much more important. Fast, uninterrupted connections will create the links that are necessary for citizens and businesses to use the latest online and mobile services.

Connectivity puts countless possibilities into the palm of our hands. We can grab the latest news whenever and wherever we find convenient. We can follow online classes, learn new skills, and seek expert advice from professors, teachers and professionals that are kilometres away. We can browse online to find the most convenient products and services from our home. We can also offer our products to customers around the world. We can bridge physical distance and check in with those we hold dearest, host meetings with colleagues in different locations and participate in far-away events.

Everyone should be able to tap into these possibilities. The EU is making sure of it thanks to bringing us more choices, more rights and more affordable calls, messages and internet. We can also take their mobile subscriptions on travels through the EU at no extra charges. The WiFi4EU initiative funded the setup of free Wi-Fi hotspots in local communities. More so, the EU provides funding, develops technical guidance and brings together experts to support public administrations and businesses working to improve network coverage and bring about 5G networks across Europe.
