BETTEReHEALTH supports deployment of eHealth in African lower income countries for better health outcomes

BETTEReHEALTH, funded under Horizon Europe and started in January 2021, aims at mapping and identifying human, technical and public policy factors that are barriers or enablers for eHealth implementation in low and lower middle income countries in Africa.

BETTEReHEALTH will coordinate and support the deployment of sustainable eHealth solutions to derive strategies and policies for more successful use of eHealth, and thus better health.

Targeted consultation on the availability of works other than printed works in formats accessible for persons with disabilities within the internal market

The purpose of this targeted consultation is to collect information and data on the availability of certain copyright protected works, in particular works other than printed works (e.g.films, photos or music), to persons with disabilities. The Commission is carrying out this exercise as part of the preparation for a report foreseen by Article 9 of the Marrakesh Directive (EU)2017/1564. The consultation is targeted at persons with disabilities and organisations acting on their behalf, rightholders, content producers, distributors, service providers, broadcasters and educational institutions.

EU:Africa hackathon looking for participants to jumpstart cross-continent Innovation

The EU:Africa online hackathon is seeking innovative solutions to socio-economic problems in Africa that have been amplified by the COVID-19 crisis. In the spirit of #TeamEurope, Estonia and the African Union teamed up with Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg and Poland to organise the online cross-continental hackathon “EU-Africa: The Post Crisis Journey”. Iplemented by Garage48 and Smart Africa, the design sprint-like event will take place on 10-13 December 2020. The recruitment of participants and mentors has already started.

Study on Domain Name System (DNS) abuse

The purpose of this call for tenders is to launch a 7 months Study analysing the scope, impact and magnitude of DNS abuse. On the basis of data and evidence collection, interviews and workshops with relevant experts and stakeholders, the Study will also provide input for possible policy measures in the field of DNS abuse.

11th EU-Brazil Digital Economy Dialogue — Joint statement

On 26 November 2019, the European Commission hosted the 11th EU-Brazil Digital Economy Dialogue in Brussels. The dialogue was an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of the 12-year Strategic Partnership between the EU and Brazil, to recognise the achievements of the bilateral cooperation on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Digital Transformation and to deepen this fruitful partnership.
