Marcie Granahan joined NFAIS in 2014, replacing retiring executive director Bonnie Lawlor. A certified association executive, Granahan has more than 20 years in nonprofit management, including the American Society of Association Executives, the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.  She has served as the chief executive officer of membership organizations for the past ten years, working with corporations, academia and government to advance society, public knowledge, and the greater good.  

Granahan believes that information discoverability and technology are at a pivotal point in history. NFAIS and its members are at the forefront of the information age. The future of the world’s knowledgebase, global access, and dissemination of life-changing authoritative information lies within our hands.

Granahan earned her B.A. in communications from Salisbury State University in 1986, is a longstanding member of the American Society of Association Executives, and has held the Certified Association Executive credential since 2000.

Nancy Blair-DeLeon, Director of Professional Development

 Nancy Blair-DeLeon, formerly an independent consultant after having been a member of IEEE's professional staff for more than 30 years, serves as NFAIS's Director of Professional Development.

 As a Senior Program Manager in Product Design, she successfully managed the IEEE's single article sales, document delivery, abstract and indexing, discovery services, author relations business, open access program, and intellectual properties permissions programs.  Nancy also served as an NFAIS Board of Directors Member from 2014 – 2015 and currently serves on the NFAIS Discovery Services Task Force and NFAIS Meetings Planning Committee.
