Images on the Web

Images on your web page can enhance the appear of the page, explain points and events without words and document your heritage project. All of these elements, however, should be used carefully and judiciously: images are meant to document; enhance and explain. If your image or multimedia element does not do any of these things, do not add it to your page.

These resource pages are meant to give you guidance when using photographs and digital video, whether on your web page or as part of the portfolios that students prepare to complete the project. There are four sections (which do not have to be read in any order): Compression; Photographs; Digital Photography and a bibliography of Resources
