Doors Open Alberta

Banff

On August 9th 2009, the Banff Heritage Corporation proudly presents the 6th annual Doors Open Banff. For one day only, once a year, more than 19 buildings open their doors to the public. Join in this year's celebration of some of Banff's most architecturally, historically, socially, culturally, and environmentally significant buildings.

Start your day at the information centre for Doors Open Banff at Bison Courtyard - 211 Bear Street. It's here that you can pick up a brochure and gather more information about the different properties.

One of Canada's oldest and most successful visitor destinations, the town of Banff is set in the confluence of three river valleys in some of the most biologically diverse lands in Banff National Park. The townsite, sits at the foot of Cascade, Tunnel, Rundle and Sulphur Mountains, alongside the Bow River. It serves as a base camp to the national park experience.

With your brochure in hand, catch a free ride on Banff Public Transit, or walk or ride your bike to the different sites, as they are within a short distance of one another. Admission is free to most buildings. Be sure to check the individual listings for details about guided tours and specific hours of operation. Please note: the program is subject to change without notice.
