Friends of the Heritage Community Foundation

Friends of the Heritage Community FoundationAs the Foundation’s programming initiatives have increased in range and scope, the Trustees felt that it was important to see how we might be assisted in accomplishing our objects. Upon study and reflection, the Trustees incorporated under the Alberta Societies Act on 24th November, 2003, the Friends of the Heritage Community (FHC) Foundation supports its parent, the Heritage Community Foundation in the achievement of its mandate to “link people with heritage through discovery and learning.”

The Friends of the Heritage Community (FHC) Foundation was established to broaden the capacity of the Heritage Community Foundation to work with communities. It assists the Heritage Community Foundation by supporting programs to help build community identity and pride. The objects of the Society are as follows:

  • To support programs to help build community identity and pride
  • To develop and undertake special events, conferences, symposia and lectures
  • To build knowledge, understanding and appreciation of historical, natural, cultural, scientific and technological resource
