Print Study Centre

The Print Study Centre opened in November 1996 in the Fine Arts Centre to provide an interactive facility for teaching, research, and community service programs related to the Print Study Collection.
The Print Study Collection is a component of the University of Alberta Art Collection and is administered by Museums and Collections Services. Since the 1950s, works have been acquired through donation, purchase, and the University's Master of Fine Arts thesis requirements. These works include limited edition original fine art prints, drawings, and printmaking tools.
The Print Study Collection consists largely of prints and drawings by both Canadian and international artists from the sixteenth to the twentieth centuries. Areas of the Collection that make it unique among Canadian collecting institutions include historical and contemporary Japanese, contemporary Canadian, and contemporary eastern European prints; a selection of print portfolios by single and grouped artists; and in particular, the body of works by University of Alberta printmaking students and instructors.
