CBC and Vice Versa

At one point in its history, CKUA was a "feeder station" for the then-fledgling CBC network. Indeed, Elsie Park Gowan's 20-part historical series, The Building of Canada was first broadcast on CKUA in 1937, and gained an extra audience in 1939 when CBC re-broadcast it on its national network. The relationship continued into the '40s with the CBC producing shows for CKUA, such as dramas and agricultural talks.
