CKUA Program Production

CKUA Radio PlayersFrom its early years, CKUA proved to be a producer of programs destined not only for its own airwaves, but those of the CBC. In particular, the radio dramas written and produced from CKUA's home base found a place in the programming of the nation.

The station has fulfilled its educational mandate first as an extension from the University of Alberta, then provincially through ACCESS Alberta and Alberta School Broadcasts, and finally through its pairing with institutions such as Athabasca University.

Its programmers have combed the continent to bring listeners an eclectic mix of content that, in addition to its own productions, has included shows from Armed Forces Radio during the Second World War, and the American commercial and public networks.
