Janice Abrahms Spring

Dr. Janis Abrahms Spring is a popular author, therapist and workshop leader who focuses on relationships. Though widely published in academic journals and textbooks, in North America, she is known largely through her appearances as a guest expert on television (Good Morning America, Geraldo and Sally Jessy Raphael), National Public Radio, in magazines (Cosmopolitan, New Woman, Ladies' Home Journal, Glamour and Marie Claire) and newspapers (The New York Times and The Washington Post).

She is a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology, a clinical supervisor in the Department of Psychology at Yale University, and an internationally recognized workshop leader. Her private practice in Westport, Conn., deals largely with couples that are confronting infidelity issues, making her one of the only therapists in North America with this specialty. Her best-selling book, After the Affair: Healing the Pain and Rebuilding Trust when a Partner Has Been Unfaithful was published in the United States in 1996, and with foreign rights sold 10 more countries such as Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and Brazil. Based on 21 years of practice in the field, it won finalist recognition in two categories of the Books for a Better Life Awards: Best First Book, and Best Relationships Book.
