Since 1990, the annual fall
compendium of university rankings by Maclean's magazine has been an
eagerly awaited event for students and educational administrators alike.
Because the Maclean's Guide to Canadian Universities shows the rise and
fall of this country's halls of advanced learning, each edition inspires
pride coupled with occasional gloating from the winners … and criticism
from the perceived losers who often take issue with the magazine's
methodology.
