Encouragements to Franco-Albertan Culture 1960 - 1982
- The Royal Commission on Bilingualism and biculturalism – 1963. This report recommended parents choose the official language for their children's' education. It also recommended that Canada's official languages be taught in all Canadian schools.
- In 1968, the Alberta School Act allowed increased French language instruction. This was the beginning of French Immersion programs in Alberta.
- The French language radio station CHFA was sold to the CBC 1973
- The French newspaper La Survivance became Le Franco-Albertain in 1967.
- La Caisse Francalta was officially opened in 1973. It is a bilingual credit union.
